Claire Baker is a Health and Blog Coach and blogger at thisislifeblood.com, not to mention super lovely and totally gorgeous! When I met Claire in 2013, I'd already been reading her blog for a few months. What I love about Claire and her writing is her honesty and total authenticity - she is the definition of "showing up" in this online world. I did a couple of Blog Coaching sessions with Claire earlier this year and she was full of helpful tips and info that made starting my blog a much less daunting task. I'm so excited to feature her as one of my Balanced Babes, I know you'll love reading her beautiful answers as much as I have.
01. What does living a big, juicy, healthy life mean to you?
Everything! It means choosing to live a full life. To make the most out of every precious day we are given, to see life as a gift. To accept whatever life has brought our way, with a willingness and a passion to embrace it.
02. How did you get there? What made you chose to make your health a priority?
I know first hand what ill-health does to your quality of life and it seriously sucks! Liver inflammation, acne, PCOS and hormonal issues have been my biggest teachers.
But so have the mornings when I wake up feeling amazing! Now, when my skin is as clear as day, my cycle is smooth and I have energy and creativity to burn, I am reminded that when health is prioritised in my life, everything else shines too.
03. Can you share a great piece of advice you’ve been given?
Start before you are ready. There is never a perfect time. Just go for it!
04. What inspires you? What gets you bursting with excitement, leaping out of bed, and losing track of time?

My family, my man, yoga, road trips, magazines, anything vintage, fresh flowers, writing, chocolate, the ocean, slow cooked food, the beach, coaching my incredible clients, sex, wine with my ladies, playing vinyl, bookstores…
Man, life is good.
05. What does your perfect day look like?
I wake up with the sun after a perfect sleep, just in time for cuddles with my man, before we head to the beach for a run with the dog or some yoga. There’s fresh eggs, spinach and salmon for breakfast before I spend a few hours coaching, writing or creating. Then, I decide to take the afternoon off and spend it preparing an awesome meal for my best friends. We sit outside in the afternoon, sipping wine and listening to tunes, before feasting and laughing till our bellies are sore. There’s also dark chocolate. Lots of dark chocolate. :)
06. What reinvigorates you when you’re feeling a little less sparkly and vibrant than normal, or when that inner critic just won’t shut up?
This quote sums this up perfectly for me:

08. What’s your favourite tip to make healthy living easy?
Don’t stress about it! It’s not about being perfect. Health isn’t a competition. Take it easy, gently and stay curious and open.
Weirdest healthy food or practice you’ve tried? Coffee enemas - yep I went there!
Favourite travel destination? Currently planning for Nicaragua so right now, it’s there!
