Elizabeth Rose is a super gorgeous, wellness loving personal trainer and life coach in training. If you haven't checked out her blog , I highly recommend it for amazing health and fitness advice as well as beautifully candid stories about Liz's life. I'm super excited to have her here - get ready to be uplifted and inspired by her beautiful words!
Can you describe what living a big, juicy, healthy life means to you?
Living and breathing a healthy life is one of my biggest values. It means vitality, wellness, fitness, confidence and happiness to me. As a health & fitness coach and life coach (in training), it’s important for me to walk my talk so I can be the best possible example for my tribe and clients. When you’re fit and healthy from the inside out, life just seems brighter!
How did you get there? What made you chose to make your health a priority?
I’ve always been a bit of a health nut as I grew up with a very holistic mama bear, but I’d say that it really became a priority when I started suffering systemic candida. It reached its pinnacle when I was living, working and studying in New York City 7 years ago. I really did burn the candle at both ends (such a mighty fine time I had!), but my immune system suffered. It was at this point that I became obsessed with organic food, health food stores and alternative therapies.
Can you share a great piece of advice you’ve been given and who gave it to you?
“Don’t sweat the small stuff!”
When are you most inspired? What gets you bursting with excitement, leaping out of bed, and losing track of time?
Travelling and experiencing new cultures (looove!), weekend trips away with my man, visiting my besties in Melbourne, quality time with my family, my side biz Model Shoot Project and watching the inner & outer transformation my clients experience, connecting with my tribe, creating, writing good stuff, hanging out in cafes, the ocean and summer, yoga and exercise in general, shopping for clothes and homewares!!
What does your perfect day look like?
I wake up early somewhere foreign and sunny in Europe or Bali next to my man, feeling refreshed & energised after a blissful sleep. I spend some time on my own doing some writing and yoga, before going to a yummy organic café for brekky with Gavin. I then head back to our gorgeous apartment or villa to do some writing and coaching for a couple of hours. The rest of the day is spent exploring on our bikes, lying in the sun by the pool or ocean, shopping in the markets, a siesta in the afternoon, and then a beautiful, fine dining dinner with some lovely locals we met. I can’t wipe the smile off my face.
How do you reinvigorate yourself when you’re feeling a little less sparkly and vibrant than normal? How do you get that pesky inner critic to shut up?
I remind myself that happiness and positivity is a choice. I might jump online and check out some of my go-to blogs for inspiration, or head outside for a run, some sun, and a good ol’ fashioned rush of endorphins.
I love soaking up the knowledge of the people around me - what is your favourite question to ask people and what kind of answers do you get?
I love asking people about their ‘perfect day’ too. Not only is it interesting for me (and my tribe) to hear what excites people, I think it’s a brilliant exercise to do to really identify our deepest desires. I get a range of answers, but typically, they seem to always include waking up naturally and only a few hours of work!
Do you have any tips for making healthy living easy?
As Sarah Wilson once said, “crowd out the bad stuff by eating more of the good stuff!” Pretty simple really.
Weirdest healthy food or practice you’ve tried? Colonics. Not the most relaxing thing I’ve done.
Favourite travel destination? I still have many places to visit, but so far New York and Berlin are up there. I also hold a soft spot for Bali.
Quote you love? “I expand in abundance, success and love, as I inspire others to do the same” Gay Henricks
What cracks you up? My partner, Gavin. He is the funniest bloke I’ve ever met.
Who do you think deserves a big high 5? Anyone living their dream life.
Awesome book to read? Oh man, so many! The Desire Map – Danielle LaPorte, the Celestine Prophecy – James Redfield, The Alchemist – Paulo Coelho, The Four Agreements – Don Miguel Ruiz, and you can’t go wrong with Eat Pray Love – Elizabeth Gilbert.
